In the shadow of the Watchers' sin, a child of unearthly radiance raised a genuinely terrifying question for Lamech; the narrative answers his crisis through the honoured ancient pattern of consulting the family's man of God rather than acting in dread.

And now, my father, I am here to petition thee and implore thee that thou mayst go to Enoch, our father, and learn from him the truth, for his dwelling-place is amongst the angels.’

Terrified by the wonder of his newborn son Noah, Lamech does not act on his fear: he sends to the godliest counsel he knows — 'go to Enoch, our father, and learn from him the truth.'
