The book presents Judith's deliverance not as a feat of human prowess but as the answer to prayer and the fulfilment of God's promise to raise up His city — the strength and the outcome alike ascribed to God.

Saying: Strengthen me, O Lord God of Israel, and in this hour look on the works of my hands, that as thou hast promised, thou mayst raise up Jerusalem thy city: and that I may bring to pass that which I have purposed, having a belief that it might be done by thee.

In the decisive hour, ask God for strength and trust that whatever is accomplished is His doing, not your own.
