Achior's summary expresses the covenant logic running through Israel's history: God's favour rested on uprightness, and He would not overlook iniquity — a moral order against which imperial pride would break.

And as long as they sinned not in the sight of their God, it was well with them: for their God hateth iniquity.

It goes well with those who do not sin in God's sight, for He hates iniquity — so walk uprightly before the God who sees all.
