The Psalms and prophets repeatedly counsel Israel to 'wait for the Lord' and leave vengeance to Him; Judith frames deliverance as God's own work — He will require the people's blood at the enemy's hand — so the people's part is humble, expectant waiting.

Let us humbly wait for his consolation, and the Lord our God will require our blood of the afflictions of our enemies, and he will humble all the nations that shall rise up against us, and bring them to disgrace.

Wait humbly for God's consolation and deliverance, leaving justice and outcomes in His hands rather than dictating terms to Him.
