In Israel a blameless reputation and the 'fear of the Lord' were bound together; to be spoken well of by all, on the ground of one's reverence, marked a person the community could trust — and made Judith's later counsel and courage credible.

And she was greatly renowned among all, because she feared the Lord very much, neither was there any one that spoke an ill word of her.

Let a deep fear of the Lord shape a life so blameless that no one can rightly speak ill of you.
