Given by: the angel of the presence to Moses on Sinai, recording Abram's prayer for guidance at a crossroads. Given to: Israel, and everyone who must choose a path they cannot yet see.

Jubilees places this prayer at the hinge of Abram's story, just before God's call comes, so that the patriarch's obedience flows from a heart already asking to be led rather than to lead itself.

And he said, 'Shall I return unto Ur of the Chaldees who seek my face that I may return to them, am I to remain here in this place? The right path before Thee prosper it in the hands of Thy servant that he may fulfil (it) and that I may not walk in the deceitfulness of my heart, O my God.'

At a crossroads, Abram asks God to prosper the right path and keep him from walking in the deceitfulness of his own heart. Seek God's guidance at life's turning points, distrusting your own heart.
