The promise of seed touched Sarai as directly as Abram; the book's note that he shared it with her honours the wife as partner in the covenant hope, not a bystander to it.

And Abram rejoiced, and made all these things known to Sarai his wife; and he believed that he would have seed, but she did not bear.

Abram rejoices at God's covenant and makes it all known to Sarai his wife, sharing the promise and the hope with the one closest to him.
