Under Hellenistic pressure to intermarry and assimilate, Jubilees strongly defends marriage within the covenant; the concern is loyalty to God, framed in the book's own severe idiom, not a judgment on any people's worth before God.

And if any woman or maid commit fornication amongst you, burn her with fire and let them not commit fornication with her after their eyes and their heart; and let them not take to themselves wives from the daughters of Canaan; for the seed of Canaan will be rooted out of the land.

Abraham charges his sons to guard the covenant line in marriage — not to bind themselves in marriage to those set against the God of the covenant.
