In a world thick with rival philosophies and religions promising secret knowledge and self-elevation, the book holds up the serpent's promise of being 'as gods' as the archetype of every seductive but deadly falsehood.

And the serpent said unto the woman, 'Ye shall not surely die: for God doth know that on the day ye shall eat thereof, your eyes will be opened, and ye will be as gods, and ye will know good and evil.

WARNING — the deceiver's first tactic is to flatly contradict what God has plainly said; weigh every enticing voice against God's word before you trust it.
