For Jews under Hellenistic pressure to assimilate, Jubilees insists the ancestral promise belongs to those who keep the ancestral righteousness — not to those who trade it for foreign ways.

And this I command you, my sons, that ye practise righteousness and uprightness on the earth, so that the Lord may bring upon you all that the Lord said that he would do to Abraham and to his seed.

Isaac's first command to his sons: live righteously and uprightly, so that the covenant promises to Abraham may come to rest on you and your children.
