Given by: Isaac, binding Esau and Jacob by the great oath sworn on the Creator's Name. Given to: his two sons, as the first and gravest duty of the covenant.

A solemn oath sworn by the divine Name carried binding, generational weight; Isaac invokes the greatest of all oaths to make the fear of God the immovable foundation of his sons' lives.

And now I shall make you swear a great oath -for there is no oath which is greater than it by the name glorious and honoured and great and splendid and wonderful and mighty, which created the heavens and the earth and all things together- that ye will fear Him and worship Him.

Isaac binds his sons by the greatest oath — sworn on the Name that made heaven and earth — to fear God and worship Him.
