In the wisdom tradition of Israel, knowledge was never merely intellectual; the wise man was the one who lived the truth. Ben Sira crowns his teaching by tying blessing to the practice of what has been taught.

Blessed is he that is conversant in these good things: and he that layeth them up in his heart, shall be wise always. For if he do them, he shall be strong to do all things: because the light of God guideth his steps.

Blessed is the one who takes these good teachings to heart — and who does them; the doer is made strong, for the light of God guides his steps.
