In the ancient household a bride entered her husband's extended family, and the honour, love, and blameless management she brought held the family — and the covenant community within it — together; for the diaspora such faithful homes were the very fabric of survival.

Admonishing her to honour her father and mother in law, to love her husband, to take care of the family, to govern the house, and to behave herself irreprehensibly.

Honour your husband's parents, love your spouse, care for the household, and behave irreproachably in it.
