The law of Moses guarded marriage within the tribe and kindred to keep both inheritance and faith intact; for a scattered people, marrying within the covenant was a chief means of preserving their identity under pagan rule.

And I believe he hath therefore made you come to me, that this maid might be married to one of her own kindred, according to the law of Moses: and now doubt not but I will give her to thee.

Marry within the covenant people, honouring the law of Moses, and recognise God's hand in it.
